1. MASALA DOSA – (CREPE WITH SPICY POTATO FILLING)
Ingredients
- Shastha Foods Dosa Batter - Regular or Organic
For potato filling
- Large potatoes – 2
- Large onion -1
- Mustard seeds -1tsp
- Chana dal (split gram) - 2tsp
- Green chilli peppers chopped – 2
- Finely chopped ginger - 1tsp
- Dried red chilli pepper – 1
- Cooking oil – 2Tbsp
- Cashew nuts split and broken to small pieces
(if preferred) – 5 Pieces - A twig of curry leaves or a small quantity of Cilantro
- Turmeric powder - 1tsp
- Salt to taste
Preparation Method
- Boil the potatoes, and mash them roughly.
- Dice the onion in to small pieces.
- In a pan, heat the cooking oil and add the mustard seeds. Once they crack, add the chana dal and cashews (if preferred), roast until they turn golden brown.
- Now add the red chilli pepper, curry leaves, chopped green chillies and ginger and toss for a minute. Add the onions and cook until they become transparent.
- Now add the mashed potato, salt to taste and the turmeric powder and mix well and cook for 5 minutes in low flame so that the potato absorbs all the flavors from the spices.
- After the dosa is cooked, flip back and place a table spoon full of potato masala on one side of the dosa. Place a teaspoon butten on top of the potato filling, fold over and serve hot with coconut chutney and lentil soup.
- Substitute potato with egg, make scrambled egg using all the other ingredients and serve for a hearty breakfast.

2. SURPRISE YOUR GUESTS WITH DOSA DESSERTS
CHOCOLATE DOSA
Ingredients
- Shastha Foods Dosa Batter - Regular or Organic
- Nutella – 2Tbsp
- Chocolate Chips
- Melted Butter

When dosa is cooked, flip back to original side. Spread 2 table spoons of Nutella on the dosa. Sprinkle some chocolate chips to accentuate the chocolate. Sprinkle melted butter, fold over and serve.
Hint: A small serving of strawberry or vanilla ice cream on the side will enhance the experience
3. FRUITS DOSA
Ingredients
- Shastha Foods Dosa Batter - Regular or Organic
- Ripe Banana – ½
- Butter – 1tsp
- Powdered Sugar-To Taste
- Cinnamon Powder- Pinch
- Berries or Soft Fruits-Optional
Preparation Method

Cut half ripe banana into round slices. Smear a teaspoon of butter on one half of the dosa. Arrange the banana slices evenly, sprinkle some powdered sugar and cinnamon powder, fold over, place a small piece of butter on top and serve.
You can substitute banana with berries or other soft fruits of your choice.
