As we all know that Ganesh Utsav, a 10 day celebration of the birth of Lord Ganesha, is just around the corner! In many Hindu scriptures, during Ganesh Utsav, the Idol is worshipped using turmeric and other natural ingredients. This Idol should be made of clay as when it is immersed in water it’s a tribute to the environment. But over the last decade the Idols are made out of POP, and when immersed in water, they are leaving harmful chemicals for underwater life.
